US Approves Long-Range Missile Use Against Russia.
In a major development, US President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use long-range missiles for strikes inside Russian territory. This decision follows persistent lobbying by Ukrainian officials and is seen as a strategic response to North Korea’s support for Russia. North Korea has reportedly deployed troops to assist Russia in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine.
This marks the second instance of the US permitting such measures. In May, following Russian advances in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, the US approved the use of the HIMARS short-range weapon system. Now, Ukraine is expected to deploy these long-range capabilities to retaliate against escalating threats.
Zelensky Reports Massive Russian Barrage.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed a significant Russian offensive involving 120 missiles and 90 drones, including Shahed drones supplied by Iran, as well as ballistic and aircraft-launched missiles. Speaking about the US decision, Zelensky stated, “Missiles will speak louder than words.”
The Ukrainian military reported successfully striking 144 Russian targets in response to the attacks. The development underscores the increasing intensity of the war, with both sides escalating their military strategies as the conflict enters a critical phase.
