Israel's Strikes Intensify: Hezbollah Media Chief Killed, Netanyahu Residence Attacked

Israel persists in its relentless offensive against Hezbollah, inflicting substantial damage daily. In a significant escalation, Mohammad Afif, Hezbollah’s chief of media relations, has been reported killed in an Israeli assault in Beirut, Lebanon’s capital. According to The Times of Israel, Hezbollah confirmed Afif’s demise. The strike targeted the Syrian Baath Party headquarters in central Beirut, where Afif was located. However, Israeli authorities have not yet issued any confirmation regarding his death.

As reported by Al Jazeera, Mohammad Afif frequently addressed the press on behalf of Hezbollah, delivering updates about Israeli military operations. Prior to becoming Hezbollah’s media relations chief, he managed its Al-Manar television network for numerous years. In one of his recent declarations, Afif asserted that Hezbollah possessed sufficient armament to sustain a “prolonged confrontation” with Israel.

A Calculated Step in Israel’s Campaign Against Hezbollah Leadership.

The elimination of Afif marks another calculated maneuver in Israel’s broader strategy to dismantle Hezbollah’s leadership hierarchy. This development follows the earlier killing of Hezbollah figurehead Hassan Nasrallah, which occurred after the organization had designated Hashem Safieddine as its leader.

Separately, Israeli authorities have detained three individuals suspected of launching flares at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private residence in Caesarea. The incident occurred Saturday night when two flares landed in the courtyard. Fortunately, neither Netanyahu nor his family was present at the property during the attack.

Images released in Israeli media reveal cracks in a bedroom window at the residence, reportedly from the incident. This attack follows an earlier attempt in October, during which a Hezbollah drone targeted Netanyahu’s home. Although the drone caused visible damage to the bedroom window, it failed to breach the structure.
