Once implemented, the rule will apply to all candidates, regardless of their job offer status, including new applicants.

Under the current system, Express Entry applicants receive 50 additional points for job offers supported by an LMIA, increasing their approval chances. Recently, LMIA fraud has become a pressing issue, with agents colluding with employers to create fake LMIAs in exchange for money from job seekers.
Positive LMIA Essential for Work Permits.
Once an employer secures a positive LMIA, they can apply for an official letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This letter enables prospective employees to obtain work permits. Express Entry, an online system managed by IRCC, streamlines immigration applications for skilled workers, making it a cornerstone of Canada’s immigration process.
