A new public opinion poll conducted in Israel has revealed that more than 80% of Jewish citizens support the idea of relocating Palestinian residents of Gaza—a proposal put forth by U.S. President Donald Trump. The survey, conducted by the Jewish Policy Institute, indicates a significant shift in attitudes toward the longstanding Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Strong Backing for Trump’s Controversial Plan

Trump’s proposal includes relocating Gaza residents to Egypt, Jordan, and other countries while permanently denying them the right to return. The plan has drawn international condemnation, but in Israel, support appears to be strong.

According to the poll, 52% of Jewish respondents believe that the plan is “feasible and should be implemented immediately,” while 30% expressed skepticism about its feasibility but said it “would be good if it were to happen.” This brings overall support for the proposal to 82%. Only 3% of Jewish citizens surveyed said that “forced relocation is immoral and unacceptable.”

Settlers in West Bank Express Full Support

Among those strongly in favor of the plan are Jewish settlers in the West Bank. One settler commented, “I’m in favor of it 100%,” reflecting the broader sentiment among the settler community, which has long pushed for greater Israeli control over Palestinian territories.

Changing Attitudes Toward Palestinian Displacement

The Jewish Policy Institute, an independent research organization based in Jerusalem, noted that opinions have shifted significantly. “What was once considered illegal is now widely supported,” the organization stated, referring to the forced displacement of Palestinian populations, which international law considers a violation of human rights.

International Backlash Against Trump’s Proposal

Trump’s relocation plan has sparked outrage from the international community, with human rights organizations and foreign governments condemning the idea as a violation of Palestinian rights. Egypt and Jordan have also rejected the proposal, citing concerns about regional stability.

Despite this, the poll suggests that Israeli Jewish public opinion has largely aligned with Trump’s vision, raising questions about the future of Gaza and the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
