Pakistani soldiers once again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The attack took place on Wednesday when unprovoked firing was reported from the Pakistani side, prompting a strong retaliation from the Indian Army.

Indian Army’s Befitting Response

The Indian Army retaliated strongly against the ceasefire violation, causing significant damage to Pakistani forces. Officials reported that a large number of Pakistani soldiers were killed in the response. However, the Indian Army has not provided an exact figure or officially confirmed the extent of the enemy casualties.

IED Blast Kills Two Indian Soldiers

This ceasefire violation by Pakistan comes just a day after an IED blast, suspected to have been carried out by terrorists, killed two Indian Army personnel, including a captain, near the LoC in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district.

Attack in Krishna Ghati Sector

The ceasefire violation took place in the Krishna Ghati sector. Pakistani troops initiated unprovoked firing at forward posts in the Tarkundi area along the LoC. In response, the Indian Army launched a counterattack, inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy forces.

Junior Commissioned Officer Injured in Landmine Blast

A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army suffered minor injuries after accidentally stepping on a landmine. The incident occurred while he was part of a patrol team monitoring the LoC to prevent terrorist infiltration. The injured officer was promptly taken to a military hospital for treatment.

Rising Hostilities Along the Border

Tensions have escalated along the LoC due to increased hostilities from the Pakistani side over the past week. Security forces remain on high alert to counter any further violations and infiltration attempts from across the border.
