Dense Fog Disrupts Delhi’s Transport Systems
On Monday morning, dense fog reduced visibility at Delhi’s IGI Airport to just 50 meters, causing flight delays. Road and rail traffic were also affected. The Meteorological Department forecasts dense fog in most parts of Delhi for the next two days, with Monday’s minimum temperature recorded at 9.4°C.
Uttar Pradesh Experiences Severe Cold and Fog
Cold winds and dense fog have intensified the chill in Uttar Pradesh. Fatehpur recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 6.6°C on Monday. The fog has disrupted road travel, with authorities urging caution.
Kashmir Faces Freezing Temperatures and Snowfall Forecast
Kashmir’s minimum temperatures continue to plummet, with Pahalgam recording a low of -8.4°C on Sunday night. The Meteorological Department predicts snowfall and rain in the region from January 16, with the Western Disturbance expected to linger until January 18.

Following two days of snowfall and rain, Uttarakhand witnessed sunny weather on Monday. Key routes like the Joshimath-Auli road and the Gangotri and Yamunotri highways have reopened. A yellow alert for dense fog has been issued for the plains.
Rajasthan Struggles with Dense Fog and Fatal Accidents
Rajasthan saw very low visibility due to dense fog on Monday. A tragic collision between a bus and a jeep in Sriganganagar claimed three lives and injured four. Rain and hail are forecasted for January 15, while schools in 19 districts remain closed for classes 1 to 8 until January 16.
